Tuscany Region
Day 11 - On this day we will travel through the region of Tuscany on our way to Florence. Tuscany After saying good-bye to two of our travelers who will be returning home, we will travel by bus through the the region of Tuscany. It should be a beautiful drive as the region is well known for its "Under the Tuscan Sun" scenery. We will spend three days in Florence with excursions to San Gimignano and Siena. Tuscany is known for its landscapes, history, artistic legacy and its influence on high culture. Seven Tuscan localities have been designated World Heritage Sites, three of which we will visit - the historical centers of Florence, Siena and Gimignano. Located in central Italy with an area of about 9,000 square miles, it is surrounded and crossed by major mountain chains, fertile plains and hilly countrysides. The regional capital is Florence.
